One of the world’s most influential cities and the capital city of France, Paris is a hub for all things art, culture, fashion and gastronomy. Built around the River Seine, which crawls through the city’s centre, Paris is a maze of beautiful boulevards, cafe culture and iconic landmarks.

Where to stay:

LE MEURICE:

Situated in the heart of the city, on one of the most prominent thoroughfares in Paris, rue de Rivoli, the 5-star Le Meurice Hotel is as central as they get. Just ten minutes by foot to the Louvre and minutes to the Champs-Élysées via the Paris Métro, this 19th-century palace is fronted by the Tuileries Garden, which creates a suburban feeling in a truly urban setting.

Le Meurice hosts 160 rooms and suites delicately designed by Charles Jouffre and outfitted in typical Parisian style. Residences feature lavish textiles and traditional furnishings and are complimented with antique accents throughout. All rooms are unique in their detail yet remain consistent in their dedication to beauty.

For a little extra space, Le Meurice offers a selection of suites. Perfect for more extended visits, these spaces come in seven different variations, from Junior Suites to the Prestige Suite, all of which have been designed with inspiration from visionary designers Lally & Berger.

MANDARIN ORIENTAL:

Opening in 2011, the Mandarin Oriental Paris was the renowned brand’s first hotel in France, joining their boutique collection of only 13 European hotels.

Located along one of Paris’ oldest streets, rue Saint-Honoré, this hotel sits amongst the stores of many of jewellery and fashion’s biggest names. The hotel’s central location brings many of Paris’ best-known landmarks and attractions within walking distance.

The Mandarin Oriental Paris comprises 135 rooms and suites, all of which are designed to blend ornate Parisian charm with refined oriental practicality seamlessly. In total, the hotel offers 20 varying room types, from the Superior Room to The Mandarin Terrace Room. Suites come in 15 guises, including The Parisian Apartment, one of the most spacious residences in all of Paris, complete with two living rooms and its own landscaped terrace.

LE BRISTOL:

As the first of Paris’ hotels to be designated a ‘palace’, Le Bristol is famous for its historic architecture, which dates back to 1925. Elegantly adorned with classic French decor, Le Bristol is the quintessential Parisian hotel.

The property’s recently-refurbished residences are split across two buildings which are adjoined via a long galleried glass hall. Rooms are spacious, some of the roomiest in all of Paris, and many provide stunning views of the property’s internal courtyard. Decor focuses heavily on floral styles and antique-style furnishings, enriching the classical Parisian feel of the property.

What to do:

NATURE: The Jardin des Plantes is a botanical garden in central Paris which was founded in 1626 as a royal garden of medicinal plants. The garden-museum complex, which cultivates around 23,500 species of plants, including cacti, orchids, iris and Alpine plants, is also home to a botanical library of various natural history and a small zoo.

CULTURE: A centre of fashion, cuisine, art and architecture, Paris has no shortage of cultural offerings. Amongst these are The Sacré-Coeur Basilica, The Louvre Museum, The Musée d’Orsay, The Notre-Dame Cathedral, The Arc de Triomphe, and of course, The Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars.

ADVENTURE: Those seeking a more adventurous experience should partake in one of the guided Eiffel Tower climbing experiences. These tours take you to the tower’s second floor, 377 feet high and offer the ultimate views of the Parisian skyline. Optional tour upgrades allow you to ascend a further 500 feet above the second floor with only the landmark’s antennae above you. Up here, only the sound of the wind can be heard, leaving you feeling like you are on top of the world – truly exhilarating!
