The Cessna 525 CitationJet is a light jet developed and built by Cessna Aircraft Company in the USA.
Introduced in 1989, the Cessna 525 CitationJet first flew on 29th April 1991 with deliveries commencing in 1993. Since then, the original CitationJet has seen over 1,400 deliveries globally (including the CitationJet 1 and 1+) and over 2,000 deliveries including subsequent variants of the Cessna 525 family.
Following the success of the CitationJet, Cessna went on to develop the CitationJet 1 and CitationJet 1+, which between them feature a greater maximum takeoff weight, upgraded avionics suites and full authority digital engine control (FADEC).
Development of the Cessna 525 CitationJet also formed the base design of the rest of the CitationJet family, including the larger CitationJet 2, 3 and 4 models.
