As the heart of the stunning French Riviera (Côte d’Azur), Nice is one of Europe’s most famous private jet destinations. With approximately 330 days of annual sunshine, this city is worth visiting any time of year.
Offering an abundance of designer outlets and fine dining venues to explore as well as a selection of beautiful beaches right on your doorstep, Nice has something for everyone, whether you decide to explore the area or sit back and enjoy the captivating Mediterranean views with a book in hand.
Sitting in the heart of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, one of the Côte d’Azur’s most exclusive communities, the Hotel Royal-Riviera is one of the most family-friendly hotels in the area.
Split into two separate areas, the hotel boasts 96 rooms and suites, 78 of which are in the main building, and the remaining 18 are in the private villa l’Orangerie, each decorated in the purest Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat style. All accommodations provide stunning views of either Fourmis Bay or the Cap Ferrat Peninsula. Many nearby attractions are within short walking distance, including the Casino de Beaulieu-sur-Mer and the sandy Plage des Fourmis (Fourmis Beach).
The hotel features numerous on-site amenities, including wellness and fitness centres, saunas, steam rooms, an outdoor heated pool, beautifully maintained gardens, and a private beach.
Initially built in the late 1920s as a casino and theatre that has played host to many big names, including Charlie Chaplin, Maurice Chevalier, and Coco Chanel, the Palais De La Méditerranée lives on as one of the French Riviera’s most iconic buildings. The hotel is one of the most emblematic examples of Art Deco with its white marble façade, which is now considered a listed monument.
Ideally located on the legendary Promenade des Anglais, the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée is within walking distance of Nice Cathedral, the Basilique Notre Dame and the many designer outlets and outdoor cafés of Avenue Jean Medecin.
The hotel features 187 rooms and suites, all with stunning sea or city views. For the most luxurious of stays, the massive 1,290-square-foot Penthouse Suite offers one of the finest private terraces in all of Nice, with panoramic sea views.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the Promenade des Anglais and within walking distance of just about anything worth seeing in Nice, the Anantara Plaza is the first of the Thailand-based luxury hotel and resort company’s French properties.
Recently refurbished in 2020, the hotel is built upon a Belle Époque architectural landmark and offers 151 elegantly decorated rooms and 38 suites. Accommodations vary in size but share a common theme when it comes to décor, and all provide sweeping city or sea views.
When it comes to wellness, the hotel offers no less than five treatment rooms, a sauna and the first Bastien Gonzalez nail salon on the Cote d’Azur. Despite having no onsite fitness facilities, the nearby Promenade des Anglais is ideal for a morning jog or cycle ride, providing seven kilometres of stunning flat coastline to work your way across.
What to do:
NATURE: The Parc du Mont Boron is one of the Côte d’Azur’s most beautiful hiking trails. With a hilltop area spanning over 57 acres, the park has multiple trails to suit various fitness levels, from seasoned hikers to leisurely sightseers.
At the trail’s end is the Fort du Mont Alban – a 16th-century military stronghold built as a defence after the siege of Nice in 1543.
CULTURE: Spend the afternoon exploring the Marché Aux Fleurs Cours Saleya (Cours Saleya flower market), open Tuesday through Sunday. The name of this market dates back to 1897 when Nice became host to the world’s first wholesale cut flower market.
Located in the heart of Vieux Nice (Old Nice), the many vendors at the Cours Saleya market offer everything from flowers to fruit and vegetables, along with all sorts of other tasty treats.
ADVENTURE:Charter a yacht from the nearby port and explore the extensive beauty of the Côte d’Azur. Take in the views by snorkelling, swimming, jetskiing, or simply kicking back on the aft deck with a platter of typical niçoise cuisine and a glass of rosé.
Charter a jet and fly into the nearby Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE/LFMN). From here, a transfer to central Nice takes around 15 to 30 minutes by road.
